About Us
Boiler Upgrade Scheme: What You Need To Know
Sunstone Energy is an MCS accredited installer which means that installations carried out by us can qualify for government grants and incentives like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), assuming they fulfil eligibility requirements. From 1st April 2022 homes and small non-domestic properties in England and Wales have been eligible to apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. You must be fully replacing an existing fossil fuel system such as oil, gas or direct electric and can get a grant of £5000 – £7500 against the cost of your installation. Many customers see a significant proportion of the capital cost recovered.

To Be Eligible, You Must:
- Own the property (including homes, businesses, second homes, or rental properties)
- Replace an existing fossil fuel heating system
- Have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) that is less than 10 years old
- Use an MCS-certified installer who will install and commission the system within 120 days of your grant application
